Science & Adventure
Humpback Whale Watching
Between July and October, the coasts of Los Órganos become home to humpback whales. Our tours operate under strict animal welfare protocols: low-noise 4-stroke engines, safety distances recommended by the WWF, and controlled observation times. Part of our team consists of volunteer marine biologists who collect scientific data during each trip — your adventure directly contributes to the research and conservation of these giants of the Pacific.
Includes
Marine biologist / specialized guide
Captain certified in navigation with cetaceans
Entrance ticket to the DPA
Approved life jacket
Skiff transfer
GoPro photos and videos
Extras:Pick up and return transport🔬 Scientific participation
At Veleritos, we operate under the highest international animal welfare standards. Our protocols are aligned with the recommendations of the WWF and SERNANP to ensure that every tour is an experience that conserves, not disrupts.
During the season, we incorporate volunteer marine biologists —mainly thesis students— as specialized guides. They take advantage of every departure to collect scientific data that contributes to cetacean research in the northern Peruvian Pacific.
We exclusively use low-noise 4-stroke engines that do not stress cetaceans or pollute the sea.
📏
Safety distances
We respect the minimum approach distances established by SERNANP and international conservation organizations.
⏱️
Controlled times
We limit the time spent next to the animals and do not interfere with their natural feeding or reproductive behaviors.
🚫
Minimal impact
We ensure our clients are aware NOT to touch or feed marine wildlife.
📋
Permits and insurance
We operate with all valid permits and insurance. Every vessel has comprehensive insurance for passengers.
🔬
Science on board
Volunteer marine biologists join as guides and collect data for scientific research. Your tour funds real science.

Nature & Conservation
Coastal Tour & Swimming with Turtles
A tour around Punta Veleros bay where you will observe cormorants and coastal birds, culminating in the most special moment: swimming alongside wild sea turtles in their natural habitat. Our local guides —many born in Los Órganos— share their knowledge of the marine ecosystem and the importance of protecting these species. Departures every day of the year.
Embark at dusk and witness one of the most stunning natural spectacles of northern Peru: the sun sinking into the Pacific over the waters of the Grau Tropical Marine National Reserve. Our local guides share stories of Los Órganos' marine culture as you sail. Perfect for couples, celebrations, or simply disconnecting.
An immersion into the artisanal fishing culture of northern Peru. Learn responsible fishing techniques from local fishermen, and turn your catch into a fresh ceviche prepared on board. We only extract what we are going to consume — no waste, no unnecessary impact on the ecosystem.
Sail the coasts of Los Órganos and discover the natural thermal pools of Zorritos, a unique geological phenomenon of the northern Peruvian coast. A space where adventure and nature meet, with responsible fishing and ceviche on board included.
Land tours across the most surprising destinations in Piura and Tumbes. Hemingway Route, Mangroves, Negritos Salt Flats, and more.

A full day of adventure: beaches of Punta Sal, Zorritos, Puerto Pizarro, and a visit to the 4 islands — Island of Love, Whale Bone Island, Bird Island, and the Crocodile Breeding Center. A unique biodiversity experience.
Where the sky reflects beneath your feet. The Negritos salt flats are one of the most photogenic and surprising places in the north. An unforgettable sunset, Punta Balcones wetlands, and a unique geological experience.
One of the most surprising places in northern Peru. Prehistoric trees turned into stone millions of years ago. Walk among fossilized trunks, unique rock formations, and areas with remains of prehistoric animals.
